Lo Xiaomi Mi 8 SE è la variante più compatta dello Xiaomi Mi 8 e dello Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. Infatti questo dispositivo integra un display da 5.88 pollici con tecnologia AMOLED, con risoluzione Full HD+ in formato 18.7:9. Questo smartphone non differisce solamente per le dimensioni ma cambia anche il processore inserito al suo interno. In questo caso ci troviamo di fronte al primo device ad integrare al suo interno un processore Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core e con scheda grafica Adreno 616.
Il comparto multimediale è caratterizzato da una dual camera posteriore da 12 + 5 mega-pixel mentre anteriormente troviamo un modulo da 20 mega-pixel, entrambe le fotocamere sono dotate di tecnologia AI.
