Honor V40 è il flagship 5G presentato ad inizio 2021 dal produttore, con una scheda tecnica che si basa sul SoC Dimensity 1000+. La scocca in vetro e metallo è disponibile nelle colorazioni Midnight Black, Titanium Silver e Rose Gold. Ha dimensioni di 163,07 x 74,26 x 8.04 mm ed un peso di 186 g, con un display AMOLED da 6,72″ Full HD+ con refresh rate a 120 Hz. Oltre al riconoscimento facciale 2D, lo sblocco avviene tramite il sensore ID nel display di tipo ottico.
Il cuore della scheda tecnica è il chipset MediaTek, con una CPU octa-core ARM Cortex-A77/A55 (4 x 2,6 GHz + 4 x 2,0 GHz) ed una GPU ARM Mali-G77 MC9. Lato memorie abbiamo tagli da 8/128 GB e 8/256 GB e non manca una batteria da 4.000 mAh con ricarica rapida 66W e wireless 50W. Il software è gestito da Android 10 con interfaccia proprietaria Magic UI 4.0 (senza servizi Google).
Il comparto fotografico prevede una tripla fotocamera principale da 50+8+2 MP f/1.9-2.4-2.4, con sensore grandangolare da 120° ed un macro. Frontalmente troviamo una dual selfie camera punch-hole con sensore da 16 MP con autofocus laser ed un secondo modulo per il calcolo della profondità. Il comparto multimediale comprende anche uno speaker stereo.
